The use of intraoral scanners and 3D printers is currently being considered as an alternative to conventional printing in paediatric dentistry. It also has many benefits, such as improved hygiene and patient comfort, efficient data transfer, analysis of diagnostic models, and improved accuracy and reproducibility of orthodontic treatment. This article examines the effectiveness and practicality of intraoral scanners and 3D printers in paediatric orthodontic treatment, focusing on patient perception, reliability, and treatment time, as criteria that are important in the field. It is concluded that intraoral scanners and 3D printers represent a significant change in the advancement of digital dentistry, serving as highly efficient tools for orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.
