Abstract

Moringa (Moringa oleifera) is a plant native to Indonesia that can be used as medicine. Its leaves are commonly used for food, traditional medicine, and traditional ritual materials. Moringa plants can be used as toothpaste material, mouthwash, root canal irrigation, wound healing after tooth extraction, gingival inflammation medicine, ulcers, and can be used to prevent dental caries with its antibacterial properties. This literature review discusses the effectiveness of moringa leaf extract for healing post-extract-tion tooth sockets. It is concluded that moringa plants can increase osteoblast cells that make bone remodelling occur and can shorten bleeding time and effectively increase the amount of collagen in post-incision healing in soft tissues, so it can be used in post-tooth extraction wound healing.
