Abstract

Dental care is not just treating the damage caused by disease, but more focused on preventing restoration repair when needed, and monitoring it so that health is well maintained. Composite resin is a restorative material consisting of two or more compo-nents, each of which has different structures and properties. The advantage of this material is that it has a better aesthetic than other restorations. A light source is used to activate a resin-based restorative material photoinitiator to initiate polymerization. The polymerization process occurs in three stages, namely initiation, propagation, and termination. The normal time for irradia-ting a composite resin-based restoration is about 60 seconds with a thickness of 2-2.5 mm, so that light can penetrate to the low-est layer.
