Abstract

Implant is a treatment to replace teeth with a high success rate. Implants have the advantage of being able to stand alone with-out the need for support from neighbouring teeth. After the implant procedure, bone repair and healing of the area around the implant will occur. The bone regeneration process requires nutrients such as protein, fat, carbohydrates, collagen and micronu-trients such as calcium, phosphorus and vitamins. Chlorella vulgaris is a green microalgae that has antibacterial, antitumour, antiviral, and immunomodulating effects and has ingredients that can help the bone regeneration process. C.vulgaris has the potential to be utilised as a material that can help the bone regeneration process after implant placement.
