Petunjuk bagi calon penulis dan Pedoman penulisan makalah

Makassar Dental Journal (MDJ) menerima artikel berupa hasil penelitian, laporan (perawatan) kasus, dan hasil pemikiran di bidang kedokteran gigi. Artikel hanya ditujukan bagi MDJ dan tidak akan diterbitkan baik sebagian maupun seluruhnya di penerbitan lainnya. Makalah yang pernah dipresentasikan dalam pertemuan ilmiah harus diberikan catatan kaki yang menyebutkan pertemuan tersebut dan tanggal pelaksanaan.

Tiga rangkap cetakan naskah artikel dimasukkan dalam amplop bersama-sama dengan CD yang berisi file naskah, surat yang ditandatangani oleh penulis yang menyatakan bahwa naskah tersebut hanya untuk dimuat MDJ dan tidak akan dimuat, baik sebagian maupun seluruhnya, di penerbitan lain, beserta identitas penulis (nama lengkap dan gelar, institusi dan alamatnya, alamat pos dan email, nomor telepon, HP, dan faks).

Ketentuan umum

  • Makalah ditulis menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia yang baku sesuai dengan Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia yang Disempurnakan, dan Pedoman Umum Pembentukan Istilah. Istilah asing sedapat mungkin diIndonesiakan jika telah ada padanannya. Kata asing harus ditulis dengan huruf miring (italics). Istilah asing non-medis sebaiknya dihindari, kecuali bila sangat diperlukan dan harus disertai dengan terjemahan penjelasannya. Naskah dapat juga dalam bahasa Inggris dengan bahasa akademis.
  • Artikel diketik menggunakan program Microsoft Word, jarak 2 spasi, huruf Times New Roman, font 12 serta batas tepi 3 cm. File dalam compact disc (CD) dikirim beserta cetakannya pada kertas HVS A4 (210 x 297 mm).
  • Penyunting berhak memperbaiki isi dan bahasa naskah tanpa mengubah arti.
  • Isi naskah menjadi tanggung jawab penulis.
  • Sebagai prasyarat bagi pemrosesan artikel, penulis wajib melunasi biaya langganan minimal selama satu tahun, dan membayar kontribusi biaya cetak.

Sistematika penulisan artikel

  1. Sistematika penulisan disesuaikan dengan jenis artikel:
    1. Laporan penelitian: abstrak, pendahuluan, bahan dan metode, hasil, pembahasan, simpulan dan saran, serta daftar pustaka.
    2. Studi kasus: abstrak, pendahuluan, laporan kasus serta foto sebelum dan sesudah, pembahasan, simpulan dan saran, serta daftar pustaka.
    3. Telaah pustaka: abstrak, pendahuluan, tinjauan pustaka, pembahasan, simpulan dan saran, atau ringkasan, serta daftar pustaka.
  2. Artikel diawali dengan judul yang dibuat singkat, jelas, informatif, tidak lebih dari 15 kata, diikuti nama penulis tanpa gelar, tempat bekerja, alamat jelas, serta nomor telepon yang mudah dihubungi, dan faksimili serta email.
  3. Abstrak dibuat dalam bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris, spasi tunggal, tidak lebih dari 150 kata, dengan susunan terstruktur yang menggambarkan isi naskah secara ringkas dan padat dengan mengemukakan:
    1. Laporan penelitian: masalah dan tujuan penelitian, metode dan hasil penelitian, dan simpulan.
    2. Studi kasus: masalah dan tujuan penulisan, laporan kasus, dan simpulan.
    3. Telaah pustaka: masalah dan tujuan penulisan, dan simpulan atau ringkasan. 
  1. Di bawah abstrak, tuliskan 3-5 kata kunci.
  2. Daftar pustaka disusun dalam sistem Vancouver (Uniform requirements for manuscript submitted to biomedical journals). Urutan penunjukan sumber pustaka ditulis menggunakan angka arab berdasarkan urutan pemunculannya. Semua nama penulis dicantumkan, tetapi jika lebih dari 6 penulis, tulis 6 nama pertama diikuti dengan et al. Singkatan nama jurnal mengacu pada Index Medicus. Daftar pustaka berisi sumber yang betul dikutip untuk penulisan naskah.

Information for contributors and paper submission guidelines

Makassar Dental Journal publishes articles on all aspects of dentistry in the form of research articles, case reports or literature reviews. Articles submitted for publication are assumed to be published exclusively to the Makassar Dental Journal. Articles that have been previously presented in scientific seminar must be provided with footnoted which mentions the name and date of that seminar.

Three copies of the manuscript are put in an envelope together with the CD which includes the file of the manuscript, a letter signed by the author stating that the manuscript is exclusively submitted to Makassar Dental Journal and must not have been, or be about to be, published elsewhere, either wholly or in part, and the author’s details (full name, degree, institution and postal and email addresses, telephone, mobile phone, fax).

General Guidelines

  1. The manuscript, written in Bahasa Indonesia (BI), follows Pedoman Umum Ejaan Bahasa Indonesia yang Disempurnakan. Any foreign terms should be italicized and written in BI, when the terms exist in BI, following Pedoman Umum Pembentukan Istilah. Non-medical foreign terms are used only when necessary and are provided with its translation. Jurnal Dentofasial also publishes articles written in academic English.
  2. Manuscripts including tables, references and figure legends must be typewritten (double-spaced) using Microsoft Word on 210 x 297 mm or size A4 paper with margins of 3 cm. The maximum number of pages is 20.
  3. The Editor reserves the right to edit the manuscript at her discretion, without changing the meaning, to articles accepted for publication.
  4. The author is responsible for the contents of the article.
  5. When the article is accepted for publication, the author must subscribe to MDJ for, at least, one year and bear the printing cost of the accepted manuscript.

Systematic order of the manuscript

  1. Based on the type of the article, the submitted manuscript should be arranged in the following order:
    1. Research article: abstract, introduction, materials and method, results, discussion, conclusion and suggestions, and references.
    2. Case report: abstract, introduction, case report with pre-and post-study picture, discussion, conclusion and suggestion, and references.
    3. Literature review: abstract, introduction, literature studies, discussion, conclusion, suggestion, and references.
  2. Title of article should be brief, concise, informative, not exceeding 15 words, followed by authors’ name (omit title), institution, address, contact number, fax and email.
  3. Abstract is written in Indonesian and English, one-spaced, not exceeding 150 words and should briefly reflect the contents of the article:
    1. Research article: background, objectives, materials and method, results, and conclusion.
    2. Case reports: background, objectives, case report, and conclusion.
    3. Literature review: background, conclusion or summary.
  4. objectives, and Below the abstract, write 3-5 key words.
  5. References follow the Vancouver Style (Uniform requirements for manuscript submitted to biomedical journals). References should be numbered consecutively with arabic number in the order in which they appear in the manuscript. No more than six authors should be listed. If there are more than six names, they are followed by ‘et al’. Abbreviations of journals name follow index medicus. All references mentioned refer to only the sources quoted in the article.
